Uppleið – a course based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is designed to reach individuals within the target group of adult education who are least likely to pursue further education. The aim is to support their pathway to continued learning and active participation through motivation and self-empowerment.
The goal of the course is to enhance participants’ ability to cope with challenging emotional states by applying CBT methods in everyday life. By doing so, participants learn to change their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and thereby maintain improved well-being.
The Uppleið curriculum also includes a screening process for depression and anxiety, which is recommended to be carried out before the course begins.
